I'm Mik. Model, mother, moron. Future meta-magician. Former logic clinician.
My better half and I own Brainfood Bookstore in Longmont, Colorado. It is the only exclusively indie- and local-lit bookstore in the nation. We meet a lot of crazy folks.
Testimonial from a former roommate:
"Living with you was like living with a quiet little opinionated deer person who floated around like a ghost and said smart/nutso things and ate seaweed. "
I love Colorado. I love mountains. I love hiking. I read and write. I raise my children to the best of my ability. I have lupus and have defeated early-stage cancer twice, so I pretty much fully support the use of medical marijuana.

It’s been an awesome couple of days. On Thursdays during the summer, the Ulrich (the art museum at my university) hosts Art for Your Ears— a free concert outside the museum. last night we decided to go. Once we got to the museum, there were signs directing us to the university theater instead, so we were a little apprehensive. But once we got there, we realized it was a cajun band playing on the right half of the stage, and on the left half, anyone— children or adults— could get up and dance. Oh, and the lead singer was Sophie’s favorite nurse from her pediatrician’s office! So that was awesome. The kids really got a kick out of being allowed to dance onstage.
Then after bedtime, John and I bottled the gluten-free India Pale Ale for Brainfood. It’s got orange and honey flavors and it is super awesome. I can’t wait to get the labels so we can start selling it. We’ve got a couple retailers lined up so we can go ahead and start selling beer before we open our Brainfood venue/ retail space in September.
Sooo if you’re an artist or author and you’d like your art/ poetry/ whatever on our bottles for the masses to see… You should check out our perks at our Indiegogo campaign! It’s the perfect exposure campaign for an indie author or artist who just needs to get their name out there. :)
