I'm Mik. Model, mother, moron. Future meta-magician. Former logic clinician.
My better half and I own Brainfood Bookstore in Longmont, Colorado. It is the only exclusively indie- and local-lit bookstore in the nation. We meet a lot of crazy folks.
Testimonial from a former roommate:
"Living with you was like living with a quiet little opinionated deer person who floated around like a ghost and said smart/nutso things and ate seaweed. "
I love Colorado. I love mountains. I love hiking. I read and write. I raise my children to the best of my ability. I have lupus and have defeated early-stage cancer twice, so I pretty much fully support the use of medical marijuana.

Hey guess what, if you are a member of Goodreads, you can still download the e-book of Turtle for free today. This will probably be the last day. Just go to the page for Turtle and click ‘download e-book’ in the green bar.
This is for members of Goodreads who are a part of the book club reading Turtle this month, so if you believe in the honor system, also join Miscellaneous Reads and sign up to read Turtle. Thanks.
Oh, and reblog for your friends who like free books.

If you’ve read Turtle and would like to join the bookclub currently reading it, you can sign up here.
I’m currently tied for second in a poll that will determine what book an online book club will be reading next month. The group has 200+ members, and even though they won’t all buy the book, having a book club just talking about my novel would be a huge break for me. Please vote for Turtle, especially if you’re a member of Goodreads. (If you’re not, you totally should join! Book clubs, book giveaways, author interviews, reviews, keep track of your progress, etc)
If you’re a member of Goodreads, one of their book clubs is voting on what book to read for the next month. My novel is one of the books up for consideration, so if you would like to vote, here is the link. Having my book read by a book club would be a huge break for me. So anyway… vote. And a reblog wouldn’t hurt. :)
Do me a favor?
If you are a Goodreads member, I would appreciate it a lot if someone would nominate my book (Turtle by Mik Everett) for the July nominations for this book club. Having a whole book club reading my book would be a big break for me. If anyone can do this (I just need one person, and I can’t nominate myself), I would be super super grateful! Thanks! :)
