I'm Mik. Model, mother, moron. Future meta-magician. Former logic clinician.
My better half and I own Brainfood Bookstore in Longmont, Colorado. It is the only exclusively indie- and local-lit bookstore in the nation. We meet a lot of crazy folks.
Testimonial from a former roommate:
"Living with you was like living with a quiet little opinionated deer person who floated around like a ghost and said smart/nutso things and ate seaweed. "
I love Colorado. I love mountains. I love hiking. I read and write. I raise my children to the best of my ability. I have lupus and have defeated early-stage cancer twice, so I pretty much fully support the use of medical marijuana.

I had my own house…
One where I could set up a shelf to display all my vintage cameras.
One where I could sleep in the backyard under the stars next to a handmade fire pit.
One where I can grow all my own fruit and veggies and live solely off that and the animals I raise.
One where I can paint the walls any ridiculous color I’d like. ( Not that I think green, yellow, red, are ridiculous but certainly not something a landlord would approve…)
One where I can have a crafting/art studio. My own space to play my music loud and somewhere I can feel comfortable covering my self in paint. (By painting… im not just going to rub paint on myself!)
One where I can open all the windows and let the fresh mountain air in.
One where I can go lay outside in the grass for a nap with out worrying if a neighbor might be looking. No more freeway noise, gunshots, or people literally on the other side of the wall.
No more not feeling “at home.”
This, this, a thousand times this. I could support myself and my children, if only I had the land to do it on…
